INTERACTION DESIGN INTERNSHIP@ FORGE MEDIA + DESIGN
Forge Media and Design's Interactive Team has given me a huge opportunity to be apart of working in the research and early design process of the Ground-Breaking Project.
GOALS
The goal of the project is to craft an artful installation to add a vibrant sense of life to greatly enhance the tenant and visitor experience while creatively capturing the essence of their brand – growth.

PRIMARY RESEARCH
CONTEXTUAL INQUIRY
Before we actually jumped into iterations and doing the design process, the team decided to meet up at the Globe and Mail building for scouting and figuring out the foot traffic of the space.
Contextual Inquiry is the observation method that our team used to obtain information about the space from the real users. The goal is to watch how test participants interact within the space (Globe and Mail’s entrance) and research the architectural layout of the lobby.
PRIMARY RESEARCH
CONTEXTUAL INQUIRY
SECONDARY RESEARCH
- 01 - INTERSTITIAL SPACE
After multiple meeting and iterations, we have decided to pick 2 themes/concepts for the installation.
We call the first one INTERSTITIAL SPACE. It is an exploration of the symbiotic relationship between the city and it's citizens. The piece actively translates the momentum of the lobby’s pedestrians, adding colourful lines that weave throughout the illustrated cityscape, revealing depth and imbuing energy into the art.
SECONDARY RESEARCH
- 02 - "BLOOM"
Bloom invites the viewer to wander into its idyllic, hand-illustrated forest scenes to enjoy a moment of respite.
It highlights the importance of maintaining a balance between nature and the urban sprawl, so that we can continue to find solace within its warm embrace.

MOCKUPS
INTERSTITIAL SPACE
After deciding the themes and styles, we have made a couple mockups to pitch it to the client.

REFLECTION
Since the internship only last for 4 months, unfortunately I could not move forward with the interactive team to continue working on this project for the development stage. It was such a big opportunity for me to be able to work with such an amazing team and amazing project.
